You may be familiar with the Community Centre, or may have even visited recently, but have you ever wondered how it is run? The Centre has been at the heart of Titchfield for more than 50 years, and the vision has remained the same - to provide a place for local people to come together, join in and celebrate. It is managed by Titchfield Community Association, a registered charity, with a management committee made up entirely of volunteers. The members share a wealth of experience and skills, along with a real passion for the community. We are proud of the fact that the Centre is self-funded, with income from regular groups and occasional party hire. This is supplemented by generous donations from a few regular groups, plus support from Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council on various renovation projects. Alongside the committee, there are a small group of part-time employees who manage the day-to-day running of the Centre. With an estimated 2-3,000 visitors per week, it is a busy and challenging task. Centre Manager Mary-Kate Smith says, “no two days at the Centre are the same! The ongoing maintenance and administration certainly keeps us on our toes, but thanks to our hard-working team and energy of our committee members, the Centre continues to thrive.”
